Renderings

A rendering is a specific graphic variant of a glyph as it appears on the tablets. Each base glyph (e.g. 002) may have several renderings (002a, 002c, 002d…) that differ in shape or detail while representing the same abstract sign.

Letter variants

A lowercase letter after the Barthel number indicates a distinct graphic form of the same glyph: 002a, 002c, 002d are all renderings of glyph 002. The letters follow Barthel's original classification.
